Going's ons......

Hey everyone!
Here are a couple pics of some things I've been doing lately.

Cats - The meeting of Stirling and Simone

Simone!

Photos from DevCon

I know that I'm late, but here are four pictures from DevCon. That's the FileMaker conference in Phoenix that Mama and I went to. These pictures are coming from my friend Steffan in Finland. You guys might remember Steffan from 5 years ago when he sent you all a bunch of Finnish chocolate.

Good Morning from Kansas

Hello from Kansas! This is the official (Drum rolls, please) first post ever from the Papa! Hooray!
Two fun comments. Yesterday I got an interesting phone call from the North Country Shelter. (Or somethng like that) They wanted to know if Katie and Sandy would be good pet owners for a kitten. I told them that considering how badly Sterling is spoiled with loving care they should take their kittens and run! No, not really. But, I thought it was interesting that they would call across the country to check on a future home for one kitten. . .
Clouds were beautiful this morning. A long row of thunderheads bloomed to our east. Perhaps from Wichita to Salina. So, as the sun came up, the thunderheads were back lit. Beautiful silver linings.
I have a important meeting tomorrow night with Advance Pest control. It will be a show and tell session from all the progress I've made on my new PestaRoo. If they like it, hopefully they'll help fund and sell it. So, the pressure is on, and now I'm back to work. Love you all.

Green Mountain Coffee Morning!

Hello Everybody!

I slept in this morning for the second day in a row until 9am! Wow! I think The Sandman and I have been on the crazy summer roller-coaster. We've never been so busy! Anyway - now I'm really enjoying my morning because I'm drinking Green Mountain Coffee (the stuff that they grind right here in Waterbury) and also because it was soooo exciting to see a new user on the blog - Yahoo Papa!!! Now we just have to get the boys on. Also, Willow, that was a great bit of writing there from the 3am shift! I love you guys!
Yep - so Sandy and I trying to get another kitten - and this animal shelter where we are getting it you have to go through this whole application process and provide four references! It's pretty caring of them to care so much about where their animals are going, but whew! Anyway, we did find a kitten that had just come in from their "foster care" program that we're pretty sure we're going to get. Her name is Simone and she's a little 13 week old smokey calico. Very pretty and very sweet. Stirling's going to totally fall head over hind legs for her! He has been so lonely around here lately. Sometimes he just randomly walks around the house and meows very loudly. It's very depressing. :)
Today I am putting a second coat of lettering paint on my sign - two more days and it should be done. I HATE enamel paint. This sign has taken over a week now just to finish. Jeeze!
Tonight I am teaching my two ballet classes in Montpelier and then Sandy, Anne, Bill and I are all going out to the New England Culinary Institute restaurant. It will be a nice evening.
Well, better get off to the sign painting. I want to have a festive grand opening day for my gallery in Oct - even though it will be open before that. I'm going to decorate with pumpkins and leaves and such - you all should come!!!! :) This morning I woke up and wanted to go to Dutch Kitchen by Stuzmans greenhouse - but then I remembered it was in Kansas. Darn, sigh............I miss you guys a lot! But I really am loving it here in Vermont - what an incredible place - but it would be heaven if my family were here too! Hope you all have a great day! I love you so much! - Katie

PS - the pic is one I took of Elise (Sandy in background) last year getting our Christmas tree. I think it's a beautiful picture.

mmm...cake and coffee at night!

Hola!
It is so nice to be able to get on the web and see what my amazing family is up to! Someone should encourage the boys to start posting things. I really want to see what they have been creating.
Everything is good down at my end in Manhappenin! School is school. I have my first test and paper of the semester due Friday. So this week will be lots of homework.
This evening I went and took a dance class at one of the local studios. It was a jazz class, I think one below the highest level. It was fun although really really easy (even after not taking dance for...about 9 months now!)and I was definitely the oldest person taking it by about three years at least. I might be going to the more advanced classes on Wednesday, it just depends if I decide it is worth the cost. After I got back Erin and I went to the coffee shop to study and got back around 11:00 PM at which time we both succumbed to our chocolate craving and proceeded to make the most wonderful chocolate cake!! It was glorious!! We fed all of the late night studyers!
Unfortunately now I am working my nasty middle of the night shift and am about to fall asleep....zzzzzzzz
Stay tuned!!
I love you all
Willow

Pics from Vermont!

Hi guys! Here's some recent pics - When Sandy's family was down, the art gallery, a little bench I bought (kind of blurry in the pic), the gallery bags that I bought and put my own little stamp onto for sales, Stirling and just a few random things. Love you guys! Katie

Tim and I are thinking about getting a miniature English bulldog for ourselves for christmas. Katie thinks we are crazy. Thoughts...

SEABA - stands for South End Arts....something of other?

I guys - no pictures today - but I wanted to let you all know of the fun art thing I'm doing this weekend. It's an Art Hop (put on by SEABA) in Burlington! I'm going to have just five paintings there and a mini-booth. I think it should be fun. Last night in my modern class in Essex one of the ladies taking from me said that where I am, on Pine St., is one of the best locations for the Art Hop - hope so! Anyway, I'll be doing that this afternoon and this evening and tomorrow. This morning though I am headed out for a bike ride in the very Fallish weather here this morning, then on my loop home I'm going to stop in at the coffee shop - ahhhhhh. :) Love you all sooooooo much! - Katie

The New Look!

So here are three pics of the gallery. The lights are up, the floor is painted in the tuscan gold (although its hard to tell from these pics) and I've put up 2x4s all around the top edge of the walls to hang my paintings from. It's done! Now I just have to hang my work, and make it a little more comfortable looking! I would love to have a little loveseat in there or cozy chair. Betony, or anyone, I would love to put up some of your art too! It could be like a little family gallery. Anyway, it's raining today and I feel tired out and just want to curl up with a magazine or the news paper at the coffee house. I might do some painting today, or possibly clean up the house in time for Sandy's family coming on Fri. It's kind of nice to have a rainy day. I love you all so much! -Katie

Good Morning!!

Hello everybody!!
Wow, it has been a while since I have been here! So many cool posts and pictures! I just finished a role of film so I will be posting them as soon as I get them back from Wal-Mart. It is 5:30 AM right now. Why, you ask am I up at this insane hour? Actually I had to start work at 3:00 AM and am almost done then I can retire to my glorious loft and sleep until my first class starts at 11:30. Ahhh..the wonders of dorm life! Everything is going good! I only have to work this yucky shift once a week which is nice. My other shifts are usually early evening. My classes are all pretty easy right now. I feel kind of bad because Erin, my roommate has an insane workload and all I have is some reading. However I am sure it will pick up soon and then I will be remeniscing about the good old days when I had no HW!!
Well, I am going to leave you now, and find some fun internet game to play for the rest of my shift!
Love you all!!!

Happy Birthday Betony!!!!

Happy B-day Bet!!!! Hope you have a fantastic day!!!! This is a picture of a tulip that I took back in Dec in Kansas, hope it adds brightness to your day! Happy 22!!!! Love you soooooooooooooo much!!!! -Katie

Amazing waterway

I wanted to show you guys the Huntington Gorge - it's amazing! It's really close to the trail head of Camel's Hump, a nice little addition after a long hike. The river comes along and cuts an incredidle pattern of holes, twists, turns and shapes into the rock. It's just unreal! But its pretty scary as well because over the past years 12+ people have died there. But its really beautiful - I just don't get too close. :) Anyway, pictures are never as good as the real thing - you'll all have to come see it! Hope you all have a great day! - Katie

Little Sophia

Aaron, Emily and Sophia came to visit on Sat night through Sunday morning. We loved having them - and Sophia loved chasing Stirling around the house - but she never could catch him.

The Tale of Two Leaves

I found these two leaves on the way up Camel's Hump when Steve, Sandy and I hiked it last week. I took the two little leaves all the way to the top, documenting their adventure all the way, until at the top they were set free into the wind. :)

Bikers, builders, and more!

Here's some pics from my camera over the past month:
Willow and Lindsey gearing for takeoff

And they're off! all the way to Kanopolis lake from Little River!

Now its to Putnam hall dorm on the K-State campus where Willow and gang were assembling the most awesome loft! All other Putnamers will be pale lavender with envy! That's Dan up top (and Dan's shoe in trouble!), Willow's roomate Erin in the white top, and Amanda (with baby) in pink.

"Will post again tomorrow with "the more"!
