New Links

Hey guys!
I am trying to add a new aspect to the site. On the sidebar there is a "links" section, that I am trying to custumize so that I can put all of our personal websites on it, like Katie's moonhouseart page etc. However I have not figured out how to make the links active. I followed all of the directions, but it still won't work. I think it is just computer's extreme desire to blow up everytime I look at them that is giving me such trouble. If anyone wants to try it themselves, or if anyone has any other sites they want added to the list just tell me and I will change the site so that you can edit preferences yourself.

Love you all!
Willow

New Chicks

New chicks are here! And they are so cute! 8 Barred Rocks and 4 Auracanas. All pullets. I was one of the first people at the feed store when they came in. I alway enjoy their peeping sound in my car as I drive them home. Having fresh new chicks each spring is an important part of being connected in the real world.
Love you all- Papa

Lots of randomness...

At Atlas, we are starting a new series this week called NEW. It is a ten week series up until Easter. For the program, I made 10 different collages (I worked on them while the band was in the studio). I really like how they turned out.

Oh - I am going to put this on the blog, because it will actually maybe make me stick to it. I saw a cute website the other day called French Toast Girl. On it, she had posted a "Big 33 List". It was things she wanted to do during her 33rd year. So... Even though it is not my birthday, I made a big 22 list. They are little things I want to do, but just can't seem to get around to. Last thing - Here are links to two of the songs the band recorded on Saturday. I love the harmonies on these two.

Mr. Squirrel

Hello Everyone!
I haven't posted in ages, because my ridiculus camera is not working again. I don't know what to do with it. Anyway, these pictures were taken by my friend Christine yesterday morning. The band spent the entire day in the recording studio - while I worked on some collages. On our way to the studio, we met this squirrel. He was very brave - and very cold. It was about 10 below at the time. So, I fed him some of my granola. He thought it was delicious. He says to tell you all hello.
Much love,
Bet

The Munchkin has Landed!

Hooray! Our wonderful hydronic heating system has been turned on! It works wonderful, and we love it. The floor downstairs is warm to the touch. The new Munchkin boiler does most or all the heating for the whole house. We can use the upstairs furnace or not. Currently, we are using the upstairs furnace to make it just a little warmer upstairs.

The 'Munchkin' (that is its brand name) boiler comes from Germany. It is remarkable quiet. No fans or blowers. And the three little pumps that drive it are so silent you have to touch them to see if they are on. Even standing next to the Muchkin, its hard to know if it is running unless you look at the light on the control panel. And it is very fun, for me, to trace all the complicated pipes and valves and sensors and all that cool stuff. You can definitely tell I'm a little geeky.

I can't wait to show it to all of you when you each come home.

Love, Papa

Wind Storm in Kansas attacks stove pipe

Wow! It has been windy here. And last week the the wind attacked our stove pipe in the barn! Help! Never fear, though, with my two trustly assisstants, JJ and Pip we rebuilt it better than ever. We also built a safety shelf for servicing. Now, we can easily re-caulk and replace pipe joints as they rust. For those of you who don't remember, stove pipes last only 3 or 4 years before they rust out. And, since this area is mostly above ladder reach, the shelf gives us access from the third floor windows. Good improvement. Papa

Jenn-Air Grill

We have been without a working grill for more than a year. So, with X-mas money from my Grandpa Fritz, we bought a Jenn-Air grill. It is a beauty! I have been disgusted with the way grills very quickly rot away to nothing and have to be replaced. So we moved up to solid stainless steel construction and solid cast brass burners and a grill with a life-time warranty. It is rock solid and a gem of craftmanship. Yeh! So far we cooked three meals on it. I love it! Note that we even have cover for it!

Meh...

Hey all!
Happy (late) Valentines Day! I don't know about yours, but mine was glorious! I had so many chocolates, it was like all my dreams came true!
Here are just a few random pics of some of my goings on. The Baby is Dan and Amanda's Abby. That's Amanda, holding Abby. I set up the tent in my room. It barely fit!
I am going to try to post some of my essays/stories that I have been writing for my classes on my blog. Some are kind of boring since they are for classes, but I figure, it would be good to have other people read them! I think that my blog's title is: Well Behaved Women Rarely Make History, or I am pretty sure that if you type my name in the search bar, you'd find it eventually.
I love you all!

My (hopefully) new house!!

Hopefully this is the house I will be living in with Grant, Erin, and Tyler. It has five small bedroom, so we will have one extra for whatever we want. It has an area in between the kitchen and living room where we will be able to put a dining table, and it has a big enough basement for another sitting area down there! Also it has a back patio and a tiny little front porch. Right now it is pretty dirty (the people that live there now are slobs!), but we can clean it up.
Sometime I will try and take some better pics with my camera. These are just the ones that were on the internet.
Have a great day everyone!
Love Willow

PS umm...It kind of distorted the pictures a little bit. Imagine the house a little bit more squished!

Finally!!!

Finally I'm getting some pics on! So here are a couple of little cute Sophia wearing a pair of big boots and one of her attempting to put a diaper on Elmo - so cute! Sandy and I just loved spending a weekend (although too short) with Emily, Aaron and Sophia at their lovely new home in Norwalk, CT. Here is also a pic of our ugly torn up kitchen! What a mess! But at least thats all gone now, although not far enough yet because its all sitting out on the front porch - lovely. Anyway, there are pics below too of the beautiful new floor underneath all of that yuck! Pics of me in a dust mask (reminds me of the summer when we were working up in the attic! - the fun never ends here!) and Sandy Sanding (Ha ha) the new floor!!! We're not done with it yet, but its going to be great! Also some pics of our last skiing adventure up at Waterbury Center at an inlet of the big resevoir lake up there. Vermont is such a great outdoor place - just wish we were getting out into it more! Sandy's brother, his girlfriend Magan and Sandy's sister Jenn and her boyfriend Mike are coming down in two weeks and we have plans to go to our first real down hill skiing in VT on one of the slops. Should be fun! I love you all SOO much! Katie

Nanny...

Tim and I went and saw Nanny Mcphee last night. We both really enjoyed it. It had really cool colors in it. It was sort of like Mary Poppins. I would recommend it to all. I hope everyone has a wonderful time watching or not watching the superbowl today. Love you all! Bet
