Hi guys - here are some christmas urns that I just did up with all natural stuff from the woods - two different evergreen branches, dogwood branches, sumac, and some red pocky berry bush. I think they turned out really nice!

Our newly painted kitchen cupboards! Some of the doors have not been put back on in this picture yet. Anne and Jean came down this week and did all of the painting, made lots of yummy meals and put in a temporary island counter - complete with a few layers of varnish! Wow! We love it! It makes the kitchen so much better! We're planning on putting in brushed silver pulls and knobs on the cupboards, the counters around the sink will be a dark blue gray slate tile, the island counter will be a wood butcher block and the walls seem to be wanting to go a fresh blue at the moment! Lots of work to do before April comes around! Yikes!

A delicious light summery cold soup. Tim and I made this tonight it was super easy and tasty. -
Watermelon Gazpacho
Makes 1 1/2 quarts
* 5 cups peeled, seeded, and roughly chopped watermelon, plus 1 cup finely chopped
* 1/2 cup cranberry juice
* 1 cup peeled, seeded, and diced cucumber
* 1 cup diced celery (about 2 stalks)
* 3/4 cup diced red bell pepper (about 1 pepper)
* 1/4 cup diced red onion
* 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves, minced
* 1/4 cup fresh parsley, minced
* Juice of 1 lime (about 3 tablespoons)
* 1 1/2 tablespoons sherry vinegar
* 1 tablespoon jalapeno pepper, minced
Directions
1. Combine 5 cups watermelon and the cranberry juice in the jar of a blender, and puree until mixture is smooth. Pass through a fine sieve into a large bowl or plastic storage container, discarding pulp. You should have 3 cups strained liquid.
2. Add cucumber, celery, bell pepper, onion, herbs, lime juice, vinegar, jalapeno, and remaining cup chopped melon to watermelon liquid, and stir to combine. Cover with plastic wrap, and place in refrigerator until soup is well chilled, at least 1 hour. Serve, or store in refrigerator up to 1 day.

Randomness
Hello! Sorry it has been a while since I have posted. I have a bunch of new digital artwork on my website (www.graysparrow.com). The picture of Tim is from our new garden we have been working on. And, the painting is a new one I did for a show called "Garden." Oh, and the painting on the boards is the mural I did for Texas roadhouse.
Love you all, Bet
